Our Beliefs

In order for people to become a part of any community, most people would desire to know what the community of faith believes.  We do follow the teachings of Scripture under the guidance of the Global Church of the Nazarene, but our beliefs are summarized as:

DISCIPLES:  We believe in the One True God that has manifested Himself through people since He created the world.  We believe that He is still creating people to be like Him.  We believe that when humans were created in the Image of God in purity and holiness, but through temptation we, humans, sinned against God.  We believe that the One True God manifested Himself as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit that He incarnated Himself as the person Jesus.  We believe that Jesus is fully human and fully God.  We believe that Jesus was born of a virgin, lived as human, taught us the true meaning of God's Law or the TORAH, suffered under the hands of sinful and disbelieveing people, was crucified on a cross to His death, was buried in a borrowed tomb, was raised on the third day, walked and talked and ate with people for forty days after His resurrection, ascended into Heaven at the end of the forty days to return as the Angels told His disiciples, and sent the Holy Spirit upon His disciples ten days later in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost that the disciples would grow in their Holiness to be given power to witness to the people in the world through their word and actions of His love, peace, mercy, and grace.

MISSIONAL:  We believe that God has called His disciples to go into all the world to proclaim Jesus' teachings that He taught while walking on the earth as His Father shared with Abraham, Isaac, and Israel through the community we know as the Jews.  We believe that the mission of Jesus is set down in Isaiah 61 and read in the synagogue in Nazareth by Jesus as recorded in Luke 4.  Our mission is to reach out to the hurting and needy of the world and embrace their neediness as our own.  We beleive that we are able to listen to people who are truly seeking God and allow them to find their way to the Father that comes in recognizing Jesus or Yeshua as the Messiah of the Jews and the Gentiles because we believe that as Jesus stated that He is the only way to the Father and everyone who has seen Jesus has seen the Father.

HOLINESS:  We believe as recorded in the TORAH that God has called us to be Holy as He is Holy.  We believe that His holiness is manifested through His Holy Spirit as we work for Social Holiness or Social Justice in a world that contains too much injustice and unholiness.
